Terms

Reasonable use of the utility.

By using Data Alias you agree to the following terms. The service is provided as a browser utility for the purpose of anonymizing your own files before you share them with other tools.

Use of the service

You must own or have permission to process the files you use with Data Alias. Do not upload files whose processing would violate applicable law, contract, or third-party rights.

Beta status

Data Alias is currently in beta. All features, including those planned for the Pro plan, are available free of charge during the beta. Features, limits, and interfaces may change as the product evolves. We will not present paid features as active before billing is actually available.

Plans and billing

The Free plan requires no account and no payment. When the Pro plan launches, it will be offered as a recurring subscription:

  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
  • You can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep Pro access until then. No further charges are made after cancellation.
  • Payment is handled by a dedicated payment provider through a checkout redirect. Your card details are processed by that provider and never touch Data Alias's servers.

Refunds

Your first Pro purchase is covered by a 14-day no-questions-asked refund. If you request a refund within 14 days of your first payment, we refund the full amount to your original payment method — no justification needed. Contact hello@dataalias.app to request one. Subsequent renewal charges are not automatically refundable, but you can cancel at any time to stop future renewals.

No warranty

Data Alias is provided as-is. No automated detector can guarantee that every sensitive value in a file has been identified. Always review the result before sharing it externally.

Limitation of liability

Data Alias reduces exposure risk but cannot guarantee detection of every sensitive value. You are responsible for reviewing the output before sharing it with any third party or external service. To the extent permitted by law, Data Alias and its contributors are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service, including damages resulting from sensitive values that remained in an exported file.

Changes

These terms may be updated as the product evolves. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the current version.
