Why use SurveyMonkey with Data Alias
Survey exports turn choice answers into codes and bury open text among them. This reads a survey as the answers people actually gave, ready to review.
How it works
The sign-in secret stays on the Data Alias relay, and the read-only permissions are set in the SurveyMonkey app itself. You pick a survey, and its responses come from SurveyMonkey straight to your browser: one row per response, one column per question, with choices shown as their labels and open text as written. The response and question counts are checked against your plan before anything is read.

These are the steps once the connection is available. Until then: Export the responses from SurveyMonkey as a CSV and upload the file to Data Alias.

Detection, your rules and the review before export run in the tab, the same as for an uploaded file. Change any suggestion you disagree with.
What moves where
- What reaches Data Alias servers

- The original file, the alias mapping, and restored results with real names never leave your browser.

Limits worth knowing
- Until SurveyMonkey approves the public app, the connection works only on the account that owns it.
- Quiz and file-upload questions arrive as whatever text SurveyMonkey provides.
- SurveyMonkey offers no way to revoke from outside. To remove access completely, remove the app in your SurveyMonkey account.
Can I connect SurveyMonkey today?
No. The connection is built and tested against stand-ins for SurveyMonkey, but it hasn't been run against a real SurveyMonkey account, so there is nothing to connect yet. Export the responses from SurveyMonkey as a CSV and upload the file to Data Alias.
Will a question like “Your name?” be protected?
Usually. Question headers are free sentences, so Data Alias also looks at how a header ends — a question ending in name, email or phone is suggested for protection. You can switch off a suggestion you don't need.
Will it catch a name typed inside a free-text answer?
Emails, phone numbers and credential patterns inside text are detected. Names written in a sentence are suggested only by the optional in-browser name detector, and it won't find every one — review free-text columns yourself.
Data Alias reduces exposure risk but cannot guarantee detection of every sensitive value. Every transfer passes the same review as a download — check the result before you send it. How connected services are handled.
