Linear + Data Alias: File the protected result as a new Linear issue
Why use Linear with Data Alias
When analysis turns up something to act on, an issue is where it goes next. This files the reviewed result with aliases in place.
How it works
The sign-in secret stays on the Data Alias relay, and the issue is created from your browser straight to Linear. Before sending, Data Alias chooses the new issue's ID itself; if the answer is lost, it looks that ID up first and reports the issue that exists rather than creating another. Linear has no narrower read permission, so the approval covers your workspace — wider than listing teams and that one lookup — and the connect screen says so.
What it does
- Create a new issue in a team you pick
- Write the protected copy as a markdown table, with cells escaped
- Choose the issue ID before sending, so a retry finds the same issue
- Refuse a result over 200 rows, 20 columns or 60,000 characters before sending

Linear's consent covers creating issues and reading your workspace. Data Alias says first that this is wider than what it uses.

Detection, your rules and the review before export run in the tab, the same as for an uploaded file. Change any suggestion you disagree with.

A new issue is created. Existing issues are never edited.
What moves where

Limits worth knowing
- Linear's read permission covers the whole workspace, which is wider than what Data Alias does with it.
- Results over the size limit can't be attached yet; download the safe copy and attach it yourself.
Can I connect Linear today?
No. The connection is built and tested against stand-ins for Linear, but it hasn't been run against a real Linear account, so there is nothing to connect yet. Download the safe copy from Data Alias and attach it to a Linear issue yourself.
Can it edit an existing issue?
No. The only write in the code creates an issue.
Could saving twice make two issues?
It is designed not to. The issue ID is chosen before sending, so a retry looks up that ID and finds the issue that already exists.
