Confluence + Data Alias: Save the protected result as a new page in a Confluence space
Why use Confluence with Data Alias
Reports and analysis summaries often end up in a Confluence space. This saves the reviewed result there with aliases in place.
How it works
One Atlassian app covers Confluence and Jira. Sign-in needs a secret, so the one-time code is exchanged through a Data Alias relay; after that, the page is created from your browser straight to Atlassian. Data Alias never asks for offline access, so no refresh token is issued and the grant ends on its own after about an hour. You pick a site from the ones your account can reach, then a space.

Connect
The consent lists four permissions: your profile, and reading spaces, reading pages and writing pages in Confluence. There is no delete or admin permission.

Pick a site and a space
Only sites your account granted are listed.

Review in your browser
Detection, your rules and the review before export run in the tab, the same as for an uploaded file. Change any suggestion you disagree with.

Name the page and save
Confluence keeps titles unique within a space, so a title already in use is refused rather than duplicated.
What moves where
- What reaches Data Alias servers
- Only the one-time sign-in code. The page goes from your browser to Atlassian.
- What is written to Confluence
- A new page. Existing pages are never edited.
- Never sent
- The original file, the alias mapping, and restored results with real names never leave your browser.
- Who holds the access token
- Your browser tab, in memory only, for about an hour. No refresh token exists.
Limits worth knowing
- Without offline access you reconnect more often. That is the trade for holding no long-lived credential.
Can I connect Confluence today?
No. The connection is built and tested against stand-ins for Confluence, but it hasn't been run against a real Confluence account, so there is nothing to connect yet. Download the safe copy from Data Alias and paste or attach it to a Confluence page yourself.
Can it edit an existing page?
No. The create request carries neither a page id nor a version, and an update needs both.
What if I save twice with the same title?
Confluence keeps titles unique within a space, so the second save is refused and the first page stays as it was.
