Airtable + Data Alias: Read a table from a base you share, straight into review
Why use Airtable with Data Alias
Airtable often doubles as a lightweight CRM or tracker, with contact details in the records. This reads a table into review without an export step.
How it works
You choose which bases to share on Airtable's own consent screen; Data Alias asks only to read records and schemas, plus your email to show the account. Sign-in uses PKCE with no secret, and the one-time code is exchanged through a Data Alias relay because Airtable's token endpoint won't accept browser calls. The records themselves come from Airtable straight to your browser, as the values are displayed.

- Refuse a table with too many columns before reading any record
- Stop reading at your plan's row limit

Detection, your rules and the review before export run in the tab, the same as for an uploaded file. Change any suggestion you disagree with.
What moves where
- What reaches Data Alias servers

- Nothing. The permissions are read-only.

- The original file, the alias mapping, and restored results with real names never leave your browser.

Limits worth knowing
- Values arrive as text, so dates and numbers keep their display but not their type.
- Saving back to Airtable isn't built: its writes go in batches of ten and need partial-save handling first.
- Importing the same table again means choosing it again.
Can I connect Airtable today?
No. The connection is built and tested against stand-ins for Airtable, but it hasn't been run against a real Airtable account, so there is nothing to connect yet. Download the view as a CSV from Airtable and upload it to Data Alias.
Can Data Alias change my base?
No. It asks only for permission to read records and schemas.
Which bases can it see?
Only the ones you select on Airtable's consent screen.
